Lucknow, March 9 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati has expelled party leader Vikram Singh from the party after allegations surfaced that he secretly facilitated a meeting between two alleged criminals and the BSP chief and helped them obtain party membership without informing her.

According to reports, Singh, who had been serving as a coordinator for several divisions in Western Uttar Pradesh, allegedly introduced the two men to Mayawati on January 22. The individuals were reportedly seeking BSP tickets to contest the upcoming district panchayat elections. The matter later came to light, prompting Mayawati to take disciplinary action on Monday.
