Lucknow, Aug. 2 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Sunday expelled Ashok Siddharth, the father-in-law of her nephew Akash Anand, from the party, along with senior leader Randhir Singh Beniwal, citing indiscipline and anti-party activities.
In a detailed statement, Mayawati said Siddharth had earlier been removed from the party during the Maharashtra Assembly elections over indiscipline and lack of coordination with the state leadership. He was later reinstated on the condition that he would not repeat such conduct and would work only to strengthen the party in states outside Uttar Pradesh.
