Buldhana/Shegaon, June 21 -- The annual foot pilgrimage of the 'Mauli' palkhi of Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan to Pandharpur commenced from Shegaon on Sunday morning, marking the beginning of its participation in the "Ashadhi Ekadashi Wari".
The palkhi was flagged off at 7 a.m. in keeping with tradition, with thousands of devotees gathering to witness the departure.
The town of Shegaon was immersed in a devotional atmosphere as chants of "Jai Hari Vitthal" and "Gan Gan Ganat Bote" reverberated through the streets.
This year marks the 57th consecutive participation of the Sansthan in the Pandharpur Ashadhi Ekadashi pilgrimage.
