Delhi/Lucknow, Sept. 12 -- Maulana Yasoob Abbas, General Secretary of the All India Shia Personal Law Board, met Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian in New Delhi on Friday and called for further strengthening the historic ties between India and Iran.
During the meeting, Maulana Abbas welcomed President Pezeshkian on behalf of the Shia community in India and described his visit as an "important opportunity to deepen friendship and understanding between the people of the two countries". He also handed over a letter to the Iranian President, stressing the need to further strengthen India-Iran relations and condemning the attacks on Iran.
