Mathura, Sept. 25 -- Tension has spread throughout the Mukhrai village in the Govardhan police station area of Mathura on Friday after a Hindu girl went missing under suspicious circumstances.
The girl's family alleged that Mushtaq Khan, a resident of a neighbouring village, lured the girl into his trap, misled her, and then abducted her.
Angered by the incident, local residents and Hindu organisations have protested strongly, calling it a well-planned conspiracy of religious conversion (love jihad). As a precaution, the entire village has been turned into a police camp.
A close member of the victim's family stated that the accused, Mushtaq Khan, used to regularly visit the village's Hanuman temple and distribute prasad. During this time...
