Kochi, March 28 -- Kerala-based media house Mathrubhumi Group has announced that its journalists Muhammed Sabith UM and Akhil Sivanand have been honoured with the prestigious 20th Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards.
The awards were presented by Vice President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan in the presence of other senior dignitaries.
The duo received the award in the print/digital category for regional languages for their impactful series titled "Venam Urulavetta Manessulkulam Thaang", published on mathrubhumi.com.
The series shed light on the psychological trauma faced by communities affected by landslides in Churalmala and Mundakai in Wayanad, while also underscoring the urgent need for rehabilitation and long-term support.
