Meerut/ Ghaziabad, Aug. 3 -- With several districts witnessing massive traffic jams on Monday due to the Kanwar Yatra, authorities decided to temporarily close schools in western Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
Considering the movement of lakhs of Kanwariyas, heavy traffic, and security arrangements, the district administration has declared holidays for government and private schools.
The district authorities of Ghaziabad, Meerut, and Muzaffarnagar have ordered the closure of educational institutions up to class 12. Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mander has declared a holiday from August 4 to August 12 for all schools from classes 1 to 12.
