Mumbai, April 16 -- Similar to Jamtara, a large-scale cyber fraud scam is being run in Maharashtra through fake call centers that are cheating citizens across the world of hundreds of crores of rupees, Congress state president Harshvardhan Sapkal alleged today, and accused some police officials of being involved in the racket.
He stated that such large-scale fake call center operations and money laundering would not be possible without protection from the sixth floor of the Mantralaya.
Speaking at a press conference held at Gandhi Bhavan, Sapkal said that videos showing links between the so-called "godman" Ashok Kharat and an IPS officer have recently surfaced in the media.
