Chennai, April 30 -- The massiveand the rapid escalation of forest fire in the hilly Nilgiris district, which has been raging for the last few days, was fully contained, the Tamil Nadu government said on Thursday.

According to Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change Ms Supriya Sahu, the Nilgiris Forest Fire has been fully contained after sustained efforts.

She said no human habitations were affected in the forest fire, and there was no fire in any of the shola vegetation.
