Nalgonda, July 26 -- A massive fire broke out at the foothill of the Chervugattu hill in Narketpally Mandal of Nalgonda district late on Saturday night, destroying 17 shops and 15 pushcarts near the Sri Parvathi Jadala Ramalingeswara Swamy temple.
According to police, the blaze started in a toy shop located at the base of the temple hill and spread rapidly to nearby establishments. Two gas cylinders reportedly exploded during the incident, intensifying the flames.
The fire also engulfed the Gram Panchayat office, where several official documents were destroyed.
On receiving information from villagers, fire personnel rushed to the spot with three fire tenders and brought the blaze under control after strenuous efforts.
