Kolkata, Sept. 22 -- The West Bengal government's data repository has suffered a massive cyberattack, resulting in the theft of a vast amount of data.
According to government sources, cybercriminals launched a malware attack on the State Data Centre's servers over a span of five days, from September 9 -13. There are fears that vital documents belonging to several departments - including the Finance Department-have been stolen and destroyed.
Cyber experts suspect that the compromised documents may include financial data from the previous administration. The State Data Centre's main server has yet to return to normalcy following the attack.
