Imphal, May 25 -- The Naga Peoples Union, Imphal today organised a protest march to demand release of all hostages and suspension of truce with Kuki militants. Hundreds of people from all sections of the society and parts of the state converged at New Checkon Tribal Market and marched towards the Chief Minister's office.
A delegation was allowed to proceed towards the CM office and a talk was held during which the Chief Minister assured he would look into the matter.
A memorandum was also submitted which stated that armed Kuki militants under the Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact had taken hostage 20 innocent Naga civilians hailing from Konsakhul (Kansaram) in the precincts of Leilon Vaiphei village, allegedly in connivance with the Chie...
