Nagpur, Sept. 11 -- A masked man allegedly robbed the Nagpur city SBI branch after throwing chilli powder at employees and fled with Rs 4.53 lakh in cash, police said on Friday.

According to police, the incident took place on Thursday evening.

The accused, dressed in a kurta and with his face covered with a white cloth, entered the bank posing as a customer. Suddenly he hurled chilli powder at the staff, creating panic and confusion, before snatching cash from the counter and fleeing the scene.

Bank employees immediately alerted the police, who launched a swift operation and arrested the accused shortly after the robbery.

The entire incident was captured on the bank's CCTV cameras and the footage has since gone viral on social media.
