New Delhi, May 21 -- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to visit India from May 23 to 26 to expand cooperation in energy, trade, defense, and emerging technologies.

Seeing the flurry of diplomatic activities between the two countries, civil nuclear energy has emerged as a central pillar of the next phase of the partnership. Ahead of Rubio's visit, a delegation from the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai this week as part of what officials are calling the "U.S. Nuclear Executive Mission to India."According to an official statement released by the US, Rubio will visit Kolkata, Agra, Jaipur, and New Delhi.
