Mumbai, Aug. 13 -- The political standoff over the Maratha reservation issue intensified on Thursday as activist Manoj Jarange Patil threatened a massive march to Mumbai from August 29 and warned of an indefinite hunger strike at the water tank near Chief Minister's official residence, 'Varsha'.
Addressing a public gathering at Tandulwadi in Solapur district, Jarange Patil called upon members of the Maratha community to mobilise in large numbers and head towards Mumbai from August 29.
He launched a sharp attack on BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, accusing them of failing to protect the interests of the Maratha community.
