Ranchi, April 11 -- Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi has written to Chief Minister Hemant Soren seeking a CBI or judicial probe into the alleged treasury scam in Jharkhand.
In a letter to the chief minister, Marandi said the alleged irregularities in treasury withdrawals across multiple districts indicate a widespread financial fraud.
He said cases of alleged illegal withdrawals have surfaced in Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Sahibganj, Garhwa and Palamu districts, with the amount exceeding Rs 35 crore.
Marandi said attributing the case to a single accused does not appear plausible given the scale of transactions, and suggested involvement of a larger network.
