Bhubaneswar, Aug. 26 -- Security forces on Wednesday unearthed a major Maoist ammunition dump in a forested area along the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border, recovering firearms, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), Claymore mines and other explosive materials.

Acting on leads provided by surrendered Maoists, a team of the District Voluntary Force (DVF) launched an intensive search around 5:30 am around 5.30 am in the forests of Cherkotla, Kirmiti, Kotwapadar and Kadabhata under Mathili police station limits in Malkangiri district.

The area is located along the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border and adjoins Darbha police station limits in Bastar district and Puspal police station limits in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.
