Imphal, July 27 -- Security forces continued intensive search operations and area domination exercises across vulnerable and fringe areas in Manipur, leading to significant recoveries of arms, ammunition and the arrest of insurgent cadres.
In a major recovery on July 26, Manipur Police seized a large cache of weapons from the jungle area of Wakha Hill, opposite Shelloi Langmai Composite Farm under Porompat Police Station in Imphal East district.
The recovered items included five SLR rifles, INSAS rifles, AK Ghatak rifles, an INSAS LMG, .303 rifles, DBBL and SBBL guns, a pump-action gun, a lathode bomb, over 600 rounds of ammunition of various calibres, drill cartridges and rifle magazines.
