Imphal, June 4 -- Hav. Kh. Suresh Singh of 4th IRB, attached to Commando Thoubal Police, was stabbed with a knife, resulting in his death when he was undertaking an anti-drug drive at Thoubal.
A man involved in the crime was apprehended.
Police on Thursday said that last night a team of Commando, Thoubal Police team detained two persons based on credible information regarding illicit drug trafficking.
During the operation, one of the detainees, Mohammad Naobi, attacked Hav. Kh. Sureshpo Singh of 4th IRB, attached to CDO Thoubal, with a knife, inflicting fatal injuries before fleeing the spot along with the other detainee.
