Imphal, Aug. 7 -- Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Friday appealed to the people of Manipur to refrain from bandhs, blockades and other forms of agitation that disrupt normal daily activities and adversely affect the economy and livelihoods of citizens.

Khemchand Singh appealed while inaugurating a two-day Consultative Meeting-cum-Seminar on the Demographic Profile of Manipur at Imperial Hall, Classic Grande, Imphal.

The Chief Minister said ongoing bandhs, blockades and other forms of agitation along the highways have severely affected the economy of both Manipur and the country, with daily wage earners bearing the brunt of such disruptions.
