Imphal, April 28 -- The Manipur government's Home Department has issued advisories directing the print and electronic media in the state to strictly adhere to guidelines aimed at curbing misinformation and maintaining public order or face action.
The orders were issued by Commissioner (Home) N. Ashok Kumar late Monday.
Citing the Information Technology (intermediary guidelines and digital media ethics code) rules, 2021, the state government emphasized the legal obligations of intermediaries and digital publishers to prevent the dissemination of unlawful and misleading information.
