Imphal, May 14 -- Manipur based organizations have urged the state government to ensure safe release of more than 38 persons including women and children, belonging to different communities, who were abducted by unknown persons in different parts of the state.
In the two incidents yesterday, four people died and people belonging to different communities were taken hostage.
The United Naga Council (UNC) urged Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, to ensure the immediate and unconditional release of 20 Naga civilians allegedly held hostage by Kuki militant groups, warning that the state government would be held solely accountable for any consequences arising from inaction.
