Imphal, Sept. 13 -- Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Sunday attended the closing ceremony of the 3rd Singjamei Constituency MLA Trophy State Level Open Chess Tournament 2026, organised by the Service Recreation and Organisation of Youths (SROY) at the SROY Campus, Singjamei Thongam Leikai, here.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said his government was formed at a time of severe crisis and that restoring peace and normalcy in the state remains one of its foremost priorities.
He described the task of building peace amid the prevailing situation as akin to "threading a needle through a torn cloth" - a process demanding patience, careful effort and gradual progress.
