Bengaluru, Aug. 25 -- Farmers and pro-Kannada organisations across Mandya district on Tuesday intensified protests against the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC) recommendation to release 9,000 cusecs of Cauvery water daily to Tamil Nadu for 15 days.

Members of the Mandya Rakshana Vedike and other Kannada organisations entered the Cauvery river at Srirangapatna and staged protests, demanding that the state government stop releasing water to Tamil Nadu.
