Nagpur, Aug. 22 -- : A District and Sessions court in Nagpur has sentenced a 19-year-old man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl in the MIDC police station area.
District and Sessions Judge Salman Azmi convicted Sheikh Shahzad Sheikh Shahid, a resident of Wagdara in Isasani, and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him. In default of payment, he will have to undergo an additional six months in prison.
According to the prosecution, the incident took place around 11.30 pm on May 3, 2024, when the accused allegedly lured the four-year-old girl with the promise of chocolate and took her to a room in the vicinity, where he sexually assaulted her.
