New Delhi, Aug. 22 -- The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a 40-year-old man, who had been absconding in connection with an alleged Rs two-crore extortion demand and was suspected of having links with the Lawrence Bishnoi-Randeep Malik gang, officials said on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Amarjeet alias Amar, a resident of Trinagar in northwest Delhi, was apprehended from the Rani Bagh area following sustained technical and ground surveillance, the police said.

The case was registered on April 12 at Maurya Enclave police station under Section 308(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. According to police, the complainant had approached authorities after receiving WhatsApp calls and messages from a person claiming to be Randeep Ma...
