Kolkata, Feb. 23 -- Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Monday expressed deep grief over the sudden demise of senior politician Mukul Roy, remembering him as a long-time colleague and comrade in many political struggles.
In a post on social media, Mamata said she was "shocked and saddened" by Roy's passing and recalled his journey in politics, including his departure from the Trinamool Congress and subsequent return to the party.
Describing Roy as a key figure since the party's inception, Mamata wrote that he had worked tirelessly for the organisation and enjoyed acceptance across levels.
