Kolkata, March 16 -- Within 24 hours of the announcement of the West Bengal Assembly election schedule, Trinamool Congress chairperson and state chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday kick-started her poll campaign by making a scathing attack on the BJP.
Banerjee took part in a colourful rally in the city hub to protest against the sharp rise in the prices of domestic and commercial gas on Monday afternoon. The rally started from College Square and ended at Dorina Crossing, about three kms away, where she addressed a gathering.
