Kolkata, July 4 -- Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee strongly criticised the rebel faction within the party over the controversy surrounding the party office at Metropolitan in Kolkata, asserting that individuals may leave a party but institutions cannot be "taken over".
The remarks came a day after dramatic developments at the TMC's Metropolitan party office, where supporters of the rebel faction led by Ritabrata Bandyopadhyay reportedly held a meeting and allegedly locked the main gate of the building before leaving.
Following the incident, local MLA and senior Kalighat camp leader Kunal Ghosh reached the spot, leading to prolonged political tension in the area.
