Kolkata, March 14 -- Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday paid tribute to the martyrs of Nandigram while marking Nandigram Day, recalling the victims of the 2007 violence that significantly altered the political course of West Bengal.
In a post on social media, the Chief Minister remembered those who lost their lives during the movement and extended her respects to victims of similar struggles.
"On Nandigram Day, I pay my humble tribute and deepest respects to all the martyrs of Nandigram, Singur, Netai and across the world," she wrote.
