Kolkata, March 9 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday launched a sharp attack on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging that he has been intimidating government officials and attempting to influence the election process ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in the state.
Speaking from a protest platform in Kolkata, Banerjee accused the Election Commission of creating an atmosphere of fear among officials involved in election work.
She said those attempting to threaten officers were "living in a fool's paradise" if they believed such tactics would succeed in Bengal.
