New Delhi, May 18 -- Malviya Nagar MLA Satish Upadhyay has been nominated as Vice Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) by Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly Vijender Gupta.
Speaker Vijender Gupta has nominated two more MLAs as members of DJB --Manoj Kumar Shokeen from Nangloi Jat and Ajay Kumar Mahawar from Ghonda constituency.
"Institutions managing water must function with accountability and public purpose," said the Assembly speaker.
An order to this effect was issued by the Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
The nomination has been done as per the provisions of section 3(2)(i) and 3(2)(iii) of Delhi Water Board Act, 1998, a bulletin of the legislative assembly secretariat released read.
