Madrid, June 21 -- Malaga was promoted to La Liga from the Spanish second division after winning the return leg of the play-off final 2-1 away to Almeria after last weekend's first leg had ended in a 0-0 draw.
Second-half goals from Chupete and Dani Larrubia on Saturday sealed Malaga's return to the top-flight after being relegated in 2018, in a game that was delayed for half an hour after the Malaga team bus had stones and bottles thrown at it on its way to the ground.
