Chandigarh, April 25 -- A significant security breach occurred at the Sekhwan police station under the Batala police jurisdiction on Friday night, as two undertrial prisoners managed to escape after breaking the lock of their cell.
The escapees, identified as Gurmeet Singh, who was in custody for a murder case, and Harpal Singh, arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, had been scheduled for a court appearance on Saturday.
