Mumbai, June 22 -- In a seismic shift in Maharashtra's political landscape, six Lok Sabha Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction officially joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena here on Monday.
The high-profile induction ceremony was held at the Y B Chavan Centre in Mumbai, presided over by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The six parliamentarians who switched their allegiance are Sanjay Jadhav, Nagesh Patil Ashtikar, Sanjay Deshmukh, Omraje Nimbalkar, Bhausaheb Wakchaure, and Sanjay Dina Patil.
The transition comes after a period of intense speculation, following reports that these MPs had remained unreachable to the Thackeray leadership for the past several days.
