Mumbai, June 3 -- Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Harshvardhan Sapkal said on Wednesday that the loan waiver scheme announced by the BJP-led Mahayuti government under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis is merely a showpiece.
"Through a play on words, the scheme imposes numerous rules, conditions, and eligibility restrictions, deliberately excluding more than 50 percent of the state's farmers. This is a cruel joke on farmers," he told mediapersons here.
The government should make the 7/12 land records of all farmers in the state debt-free, he demanded.
