Mumbai, July 30 -- In a major administrative restructuring to curb mounting rental expenses, the Maharashtra government is all set to shift a significant portion of its governance to the recently acquired, iconic Air India building at Nariman Point in South Mumbai.
A high-level review meeting is being held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary on Thursday to finalize arrangements for setting up a dedicated cabinet meeting hall and a Chief Minister's office in the 23-storey skyscraper.
According to official plans, the 23rd floor of the building, spanning 5,611 square feet, will house the Chief Minister's office, while the 22nd floor, covering 13,363 square feet, is being converted into a modern, fully-equipped hall for state cabine...
