Mumbai, April 13 -- Following the passing of the legendary Asha Bhosle, the Maharashtra State Government has taken a landmark decision to establish a world-class music academy in Mumbai to preserve her eternal memory.

Paying tribute to the singing legend, the state cabinet has officially greenlit a proposal to fulfill Asha Tai's long-standing wish by creating a premier institution for musical excellence.

The academy will be constructed in the Bandra-Andheri belt of Mumbai, as previously requested by Asha Bhosle herself.

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has been directed to identify and finalize a suitable plot of land for the project immediately.
