Mumbai, May 9 -- To raise awareness about road safety and traffic rules from a young age, the Maharashtra government has taken an ambitious step.

The Transport Department has prepared a proposal to build 60 'Traffic Gardens' across the state.

Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik announced that each garden will span approximately one acre, with an estimated development cost of rupees 1 crore per garden.

Minister Sarnaik stated that the primary goal is to educate children through practical experience.

The gardens will feature miniature road networks and Zebra crossings, functional traffic signals and informative road signs. Scale models of small vehicles to provide hands-on lessons in road discipline.
