Mumbai, March 24 -- In a major push to strengthen public transport infrastructure, the Maharashtra government on Tuesday inducted 3,000 'Rajmata Jijau' smart buses into the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation fleet at Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai. The large-scale addition is aimed at improving connectivity, particularly on busy inter-city routes, while enhancing passenger convenience and safety.

The newly introduced buses continue the established naming tradition of MSRTC services such as 'Shivneri', 'Shivshahi' and 'Hirkani', and are dedicated to Rajmata Jijau.
