Chhapra, Sept. 9 -- Maharashtra Police, with the assistance of local police, arrested two people from Saran district of Bihar in connection with an alleged fraud involving around Rs 2 crore, police sources said on Wednesday.

The arrested accused have been identified as Aman Kumar Singh and Amit Kumar, residents of Kondh village under Panapur police station in Saran district.

Police said here on Wednesday that the two are accused of gaining the confidence of a woman in Mumbai and allegedly withdrawing around Rs 2 crore by forging her signature on a cheque. They reportedly fled after deceiving the woman. Following the woman's complaint, a case was registered at Nerul police station in Mumbai on charges of fraud and misappropriation.
