Mumbai, June 22 -- The Maharashtra Monsoon Session of the State Legislature commenced on Monday on a stormy note, with the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) boycotting the traditional tea party and staging a protest on the steps of the Vidhan Bhavan over farmers' issues.
The proceedings began with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar paying floral tributes to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the legislative building.
