Mumbai, June 17 -- Maharashtra is set to vote on June 18, for 11 Legislative Council seats from Local Authorities Constituencies, setting the stage for a high-stakes political contest between the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
Polling will take place from 9 am to 4 pm, with counting of votes scheduled for June 22.
While the election was originally notified for 17 seats, six constituencies-Ahilyanagar, Thane, Yavatmal, Pune, Raigad-Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg and Wardha-Chandrapur-Gadchiroli-have already been decided unopposed.
