Mumbai, Aug. 11 -- The Maharashtra government on Tuesday transferred Vijay Singh Deshmukh, Managing Director of the Annasaheb Patil Economic Backward Development Corporation, following months of reported differences between him and the corporation's chairman Narendra Patil.
Deshmukh has been replaced by Avinash Rankhamb, who has been appointed as the new Managing Director, according to the latest administrative decision.
The transfer comes amid allegations levelled by Patil against Deshmukh, accusing him of hampering the functioning of the corporation and keeping its online portal closed. Patil had sought Deshmukh's transfer, claiming that his functioning was adversely affecting young entrepreneurs from the Maratha community.
