Mumbai, Feb. 21 -- The Maharashtra government has sanctioned an immediate provision of Rs 100 crore to clear pending instalments of salary hikes for nearly 86,000 employees of the State Transport (ST) Corporation. Transport Minister and ST Corporation Chairman Pratap Sarnaik informed on Saturday that the arrear amount linked to the salary revision will be deposited in employees' bank accounts along with the February salary. He also appealed to labour unions to withdraw the agitation announced for 24 February in this regard.
