Mumbai, May 21 -- The Maharashtra Congress on Thursday criticised the Mumbai-Vijaydurg Ro-Ro ferry service, alleging that the project had turned into a "white elephant" and resulted in wastage of public funds.

In a post shared on X through its official handle, the party accused the Mahayuti government of spending crores of rupees on a service that allegedly operated with negligible passenger response.

The Congress alleged that the project was driven by "ministerial stubbornness" and claimed that empty ferry voyages had caused financial losses to the public exchequer.
