Nagpur, June 20 -- : A major fire broke out at a scientific equipment company in Nagpur's Kachipura area on Saturday afternoon, causing property damage estimated at around Rs 80 lakh. No casualties were reported.

According to fire department officials, the blaze erupted at the office of Central Scientific Company, reportedly due to a short circuit.

The fire quickly spread through the premises, damaging maintenance materials, important documents, computers, CCTV equipment, office furniture, air-conditioning units and other assets.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot after receiving the alert and launched an intensive operation to bring the blaze under control.
