Bhubaneswar, Sept. 20 -- Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday expressed hope that the long-standing Mahanadi water-sharing dispute with Odisha would be resolved soon in accordance with the Central Water Commission's decision.

Sai, who is on a two-day visit to Odisha, met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at his official residence here and discussed issues concerning the two states, including the Mahanadi dispute.

Both Odisha and Chhattisgarh have agreed to accept the CWC's decision, Sai said, expressing confidence that the issue would be settled through consensus.
