Bhubaneswar, July 13 -- The Mahanadi Bachao Andolan (MBA) on Monday demanded live screening of the Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal hearings and access for journalists to the courtroom, alleging a lack of transparency in the proceedings over the inter-state river water dispute between Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
Addressing a press conference here, MBA convenor Sudarshan Das alleged that the Tribunal was misleading the people of Odisha by presenting "false and confusing information" on the Mahanadi water dispute.
The organisation warned that it would move the court, if necessary, to press for live screening of the hearings and allow journalists access to the courtroom to ensure accurate reporting of the proceedings.
