Mumbai, Aug. 15 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday hoisted the national flag at Mantralaya on the occasion of India's 80th Independence Day and addressed the people of the state, outlining the government's vision on Maharashtra's economic growth, farmers, youth, employment, education and its resolve to make the state drought-free.
Fadnavis said Maharashtra currently has the largest economy among Indian states.
The state recorded an economic growth rate of around 8.8 per cent during the first half of the current financial year, which he described as a matter of pride.
